- HOW TO PLAY
You may use this tool to fit your needs according to the settings. Here’s how I use it:
I ask students to play in groups or in pairs (MAX 12).
I issue colors to each team, using markers, crayons or colored pencils and add these colors to the game.
I issue worksheet. Usually with just writing space and without questions. (I try not to include questions on the worksheet so students work on the same questions in each round)
I ask each team to select a representative for the group and that person will present their worksheet with the answers. I do this because when the chaos begins, I don’t want to worry about awarding multiple prefectures to a group in each round.
I ask students to make sentences using a specific grammar point and if possible, to use the prefecture they want to capture in their sentences.
If the sentence cannot use the prefecture then they will state which prefecture they want when I check the worksheet.
Students must write these sentences within a specific time frame. Example 2 minutes.
When the students make their sentences, I will check them or ask them to read the sentence, or both and if it is correct, the JTE or I will give the team the prefecture they want if it is free.
If the sentence is incorrect, they will can make corrections, if time permits.
If the prefecture is captured by another team, both teams will play (rock, scissors, paper) and the winner gets the prefecture.
The team with the most prefectures at the end of the game is the winner.
